Here's a way to fight Cabin Fever. Get out and see some really good theater by local high schools!
Lamoille Union will have an evening of One-Act plays on Thursday March 19 starting at 7:00 pm. First up will be Stowe High School presenting Tigers Be Still by Kim Rosenstock, a clever comedy about a recent college graduate having little luck finding a job in her field.
After a brief intermission, Lamoille will take the stage with two sections of Alan Haehnel's Testing, Testing. One section is a thought-provoking drama, and the other an offbeat comedy.
Then on Saturday March 21, Lamoille will be hosting a Regional Drama Festival featuring the One-Act plays from seven Vermont schools. The public is welcome to see the plays in blocks of two plays. The first block at 9:15 am features Whitcomb's A Rose For Emily and Stowe's Tigers Be Still. At 12:30 pm, Milton presents Beowulf, and Sharon presents The Bald Soprano. At 3:45 pm, South Burlington will present Nora's Lost. The last block, at 6:00 pm features Essex High School's The Brother Grimm Spectaculathon and Lamoille with Testing, Testing.
Thursday evening's and Saturday's performances are open to the public, and $5 tickets are available at the door.
