Talk: The Movement of Wildlife Across Our Landscape

Past event
Mar 18, 2015, 7 PM

While we humans consider roads a necessity and a benefit, for wildlife, they can be dangerous barriers to movement. But it doesn't necessarily have to be this way. In this talk, we'll examine the science, computer modeling, and mapping behind the ecological importance of wildlife movement. We'll discuss the problems of connectivity for wildlife and talk about solutions on the local, regional and national scale. Then we'll use Vermont's mapping software to show the places in Brookfield and the surrounding area that may provide the connectivity wildlife need.

Wednesday, March 18, 7:00 pm at the Brookfield Free Library. Jon Binhammer, Protection Director at The Nature Conservancy, will lead the discussion.
