On Sunday, March 22, the Middlebury United Methodist Church will host a dinner and program about the work at a hospital in the sub-Saharan nation of Mozambique. Jeremias França, administrator of Chicuque Rural Hospital there, will tell of the vital medical work that is happening in his country. The public is invited to meet Jeremias and to share in a supper which will begin at 5:30 p.m. at the church on the corner of North Pleasant and Seminary Streets. There is no charge for the dinner, but people who attend are invited to bring something to share if they wish. Anyone who does not come to dinner will be welcome for the program beginning at 7:00.

In addition to his work at the hospital, Mr. França is the founding director of The Center of Hope in Chicuque which is providing education that assists people to lead more informed and healthy lives.

Mr. França is no stranger to folks in Middebury. He has been here before and a number of Methodists from here have spent time with him in Mozambique. He received support from here for his training in the United States, and church members here continue to support his work now with prayers and financial aid. While in this country Jeremias will be visiting other churches which support his work, in Vermont and several other states.
