Discuss the Role of Media in Our Community

Past event
Mar 26, 2015, 4 to 5:30 PM

The Board of Directors of Middlebury Community Television would like to invite you to
our annual meeting, March 26th at 4:00 PM in the llsley Public Library's Vermont Room,
on the second floor.

We would like to show you some of the ways we are reaching out to the community, and
solicit your feedback on current programs and future directions. We will have brief
presentations of some highlights of our Public, Educational and Governmental access
programs.

Peter Burrows, the Superintendent of the Addison Central Supervisory Union, will speak
about the role of media in our community--how media literacy is an essential skill for
students in the 21st century, but also how media is a means to engage the community
in decisions affecting our local schools. You'll also get to visit the new Digital Media Lab
that was created as a partnership between MCTV and the llsley Public Library, and see
some of the projects that have been, or can be, produced in this new space. We invite
you to participate in an engaging discussion of how MCTV, as a facilitator in public
media, can address the challenges that affect our region. Of course, we will also enjoy
delicious refreshments!
