Lange is a well-known commentator and has enjoyed broadcasting on Vermont Public Radio and both Vermont and New Hampshire Public Television. He has published several audio recordings, five books, and has received an Emmy nomination for one of his pieces on Vermont Public Television.

“We are excited that Willem has agreed to help FWRes by speaking at our spring meeting,” President Laurie Smith said. “His sense of humor and storytelling ability is so good, I can’t wait to hear his tale of overcoming adversity in the Arctic.”

In 1973 Will founded the Geriatric Adventure Society, a group of outdoor enthusiasts whose members have skied the 200-mile Alaska Marathon, climbed in Alaska, the Andes, and Himalayas, bushwhacked on skis through northern New England, and paddled rivers north of the Arctic Circle.

In addition to Lange’s address, FWRes will briefly review last year’s accomplishments and look forward to plans for 2015 at the meeting.
