A pilot Driver Restoration Day will be held in Burlington on March 20th to help Vermonters in Chittenden, Franklin, Grand Isle, Lamoille, and Washington counties who have had their licenses suspended for failure to pay traffic tickets get their driving privileges reinstated.

For more information on how to participate in this pilot, please contact the Chittenden State’s Attorney’s Office at 802-863-2865 or email them at: SAS-ChittendenSecretaries@state.vt.us.

On March 20, residents in Chittenden, Franklin, Grand Isle, Lamoille and Washington counties who have delinquent traffic tickets — those 75 days or older — will be able to pay $20 for each outstanding fine to have their license reinstated.

The pilot event is called Driver Restoration Day and will take place at the Costello Courthouse in Burlington, where residents of the five counties will have to go to take part. Officials from the Department of Motor Vehicles and the Judiciary will be on hand to adjudicate the proceedings. Prosecutors in the other nine Vermont counties are not taking part in the pilot program.
