The Salisbury Conservation Commission is organizing a presentation by VT Fish and Wildlife biologist Alyssa Bennett entitled "Bats, White-nose Syndrome, and Citizen Science in Salisbury and Surrounding Towns". It will take place on Thursday, March 26th from 6:30 to 7:30 at the Salisbury Elementary School on Kelly Cross Road in Salisbury. It is free and open to all ages. The Southern Lake Champlain area is a hotspot in Vermont for rare bats as well as research on their ecology and conservation. Allysa also hopes that she might find a couple volunteers to count bats at local sites. For more information, contact Jim Andrews (352-4734) jandrews@middlebury.edu.
