Bent Northrop Memorial Library in Fairfield: Thursday, March 26th, 6:00pm-8:30pm.
Join us for a free showing of the movie "Trashed" starring Jeremy Irons. This documentary looks at the risks to the food chain and the environment caused by the pollution resulting from human consumption patterns. In this film, Irons reaches out globally and talks to scientists, politicians, and ordinary people whose lives have been affected by this pollution.
(“Trashed” does contain some disturbing material. Please contact Aaron Shepard [NWSWD] @ 524-5986 with questions.)
This movie showing is sponsored by the Northwest Solid Waste District and will be followed by a showing of "The Story of Stuff", a 20 minute film which provides a quick look at the underside of our production and consumption patterns. Aaron Shepard from NWSWD will also speak about these issues, especially in relation to what can be done locally.
Popcorn will be provided. We will be making an effort to make this a zero waste event with no paper products and by composting any leftover food or drinks! Please bring your reusable cups or water bottles, bowls, and cloth napkins!
