Lamoille River Paddlers Trail Meeting

Past event
Mar 11, 2015

In partnership with the Vermont River Conservancy, an emerging initiative for the Lamoille River Paddlers' Trail is taking shape for a community effort to develop new opportunities for paddling and fishing along the Lamoille River. The vision for the trail is of a network of well maintained river access points, primitive campsites, and portage trails from the river's headwaters west to Lake Champlain. The Lamoille River Paddlers' Trail Steering Committee was recently formed to share the results of an assessment of river access points, portage trails, and potential campsites, help craft a shared vision and guiding principles for the trail, and brainstorm priority on-the-ground projects for the upcoming year with the community. This is the last in a series of meetings held in Johnson and Milton, which brought over fifty community members together to discuss recreational priorities along the Lamoille River. Community participants are welcome to join and provide comments to help shape the future of this exciting endeavor at the Hardwick Memorial Building on Wednesday, March 11th from 7:00 to 8:30 pm, light refreshments will be provided. Support for the trail’s planning and initiative is provided by the Green Mountain Fund and the Lake Champlain Basin Program.
