Past event
Mar 12, 2015, 7 to 9 PM

Peacham Library welcomes Geshe Sherab for a presentation title “How to Be Happy” on Thursday, March 12 at 7pm. Geshe Sherab will share how we can be happy even when the world around us isn’t going our way. Many things can get us down in our daily lives, from unpaid bills, negative friends, ungrateful family members, not getting the promotion we really deserved, and even the weather! Geshe Sherab will share real world techniques on how to master being happy when our lives seem like they’re falling apart.

Geshe is a Tibetan Buddhist academic degree awarded to monks after 12 to 40 years of study. According to Geshe Sherab, “The role of a Geshe in Tibetan society is to teach the Dharma and share their knowledge in the monasteries, schools, and amongst the lay people.” Geshe Sherab has been the resident Geshe at the Thubten Norbu Ling Tibetan Buddhist Center in Santa Fe, NM and Master of the Kopan Monostary near Kathmandu, Nepal. He will be teaching at the Milarepa Center in Barnet in March.
