Join for 3 evenings of discussions inspired by Naomi Klein's Book, This Changes Everything. The book explores the link between climate change and capitalism. What is sustainable development? How do you attribute emissions to countries when a significant portion of emissions is from transporting between countries? How do the philosophies to buy local and support free trade interact? As we begin to accept climate change and society's need to act, we look at ways to improve resiliency from storms, droughts, floods, etc. How can we add resiliency to our communities and our livelihoods? As we create framework to address climate change, can we address economic justice issues at the same time? This book explores the interactions between often isolated areas of policy: the economy and the climate.
We'll meet for three Tuesdays in a row at the Pierson Library, starting at 6:45pm, ending promptly at 8pm. We'll discuss a different section of the book each week.
