This is our time to come together and raise some money to support our dearest Ben Levitt who is facing illegitimate fines and potential jail time for protesting the pipeline. Support "Breakfast's" legal fund and keep him out of jail!

Background: In May 2014, Rising Tide VT (RTVT) shutdown the headquarters of VT Gas Systems. RTVT protested the company's new construction of a fracked gas pipeline through Addison County and the company’s plans to build a pipeline under Lake Champlain to International Paper Mill in Ticonderoga, NY. The company has since withdrawn its application for Phase 2 permits under Lake Champlain, but plans to continue with Phase 1.

Three participants in May's non-violent protest were charged with trespassing and one is facing sentencing for an alleged simple assault. Their fines and legal fees are approaching $2,200. RTVT rejects all of the criminal charges and remains committed to non-violent direct actions that hold VT Gas Systems accountable to their unjust exploitation of communities and the natural world. But, we cannot do it alone. Please help support our efforts to confront the root causes of climate change. Our goal is to raise $1,500.
