Vermont’s Invisible Problem: Racism

Join us for a talk about the origins of racism, how it impacts Vermont, and what all of us can do to eradicate it.

Recent events in Ferguson, Missouri and New York City reignite the debate about racism in America. The Varnum Memorial Library's celebration of Black History Month concludes with a discussion of racism in Vermont. Robert L. Walsh will discuss the origins of racism, how it impacts Vermont, and what all of us can do to eradicate it.

Speaker Bob Walsh taught African-American History at South Burlington High School for 15 years. For 5 years he taught in the Race and Culture Program at UVM. Bob served as a member of the Vermont House of Representatives from 1983-1989.
