For over two years Rising Tide Vermont has organized against VT Gas Systems' plans to construct a fracked gas pipeline through Addison County and to build a pipeline under Lake Champlain to International Paper Mill in Ticonderoga, NY. RTVT has helped build a coalition to fight the pipeline, supported affected landowners against the pipeline route, has organized a multitude of protests against the pipeline, including a lockdown at VT Gas Systems headquarters (May 2014), stopping pipeline construction (September 2014) and bringing 500 people to the Governor's office (October 2014). The company has since withdrawn its application for Phase 2 permits under Lake Champlain (Woohoo!!), but plans to continue with Phase 1.

The fines and legal fees of a few of our protesters are approaching $2,200. Please help support our efforts to confront the root causes of climate change. Our goal is to celebrate our recent victory and raise $1,500 for fines & legal fees. So, get your dancing shoes on, support the movement, and shake off your cabin fever!
