Grow Your Own Gathering

Past event
Mar 7, 2015, 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM

Join us for a gathering on the topic of leftovers and using food efficiently to save money. This gathering will be led by Angela Ross of Albany who will show us how she puts together meal kits by filling canning jars with dry ingredients and filling freezer bags with leftovers, to be put together with stock for a quick, healthy, inexpensive meal later. Grow Your Own is a project of the Center for an Agricultural Economy, the Hardwick Area Food Pantry and NEK Kids on the Move. Gatherings are free and open to the public, thanks to a dedicated core of volunteers and farms and businesses who have supported our efforts. Children age six and over are welcome to participate if accompanied by an adult, and daycare is available for younger children if arranged in advance. RSVP mandatory to pantry coordinator Ruby Dale-Brown at (802) 472-5940 by March 5. We enjoy a shared meal at each gathering. Gatherings are the first Saturday of each month except July when it will be the second Saturday.
"The Mission of Grow Your Own is to increase food independence, better health and wellbeing through shared knowledge and experience."
