There will be a Make a Difference event on February 27 from 2 to 6 PM in Room 250 of the Hebard Building in Newport, organized by Barton resident Jackie Konkol. Jackie is a long-time worker for community involvement and disability rights. She was a student in the Video Voices program through Mercy Connections that helps people learn to discuss issues that concern them publicly. She worked with the Vermont Workers Center and has volunteered with Newport Parks and Recreation. She strongly believes that everyone can make a difference regardless of situation in life.
