When Middlebury College Professor Pat Manley, a marine geologist and geophysicist, looks at Lake Champlain, she sees what we don’t: the underground springs, furrows, drifts and landslides (yes, really) at the lake’s bottom, all of which bear on the many ways we use the lake. And she sees the lake’s dramatic history through the eons, which she’ll share with us.
