Join the fun, keeping the Black River trash-free! Work-gloves, trash bags, lunch, and a commemorative tee shirt are all provided for volunteers who come to one of the HQ tables on Saturday morning, September 12th to lend a hand and be a "BRAT" for a few hours. Sign in after 8am, pick a place to work, and bring your trash back to HQ by 11 to report your "haul." Clean up, grab some lunch, and play some of the garbage in the "Junk Jam" -- an improvised musical effort to repurpose trash into instruments, before we send it off for recycling or disposal.
Stay the weekend and participate in RiverSweep as well as the Steampunk Festival -- two creative and hands-on events happening the same weekend! Contact the Holiday Inn Express in Springfield VT at (802) 885-4516 and ask for the "RiverSweep rate" to get a discount on your stay. Then sign in with the BRAT on Sept 12th to validate the rate, and make your stay in Springfield mean something special by taking care of the river for a few hours.
