On Saturday, March 21, the Warren Public Library will host a needle felting workshop. Needle felting is done with a barbed needle specific to felting and may be used to accomplish intricate tapestry designs or figurines in wool. The workshop will teach you how the needles work, get you going on a project and cover some important tips and tricks to accomplish beautiful designs. This will be a workshop for individuals ages eight and up, or ages six to eight accompanied by an adult, and limited to ten persons total. The workshop proper will begin at 10:00 a.m. and be over by 11:30, however, individuals may stay on and continue to practice their craft for an additional hour if they so desire. Experienced needle felters can bring their own materials to the workshop. Those participants that do not bring materials will be charged a five-dollar materials fee for needles, foam board, and wool. The workshop is being taught by Neysa Russo, a fiber artist who lives in Plainfield. Persons interested in the workshop should register in advance at the library or call the library at 496-3913.
