Beyond the Gate: Creating a Religious Identity for Your Interfaith Home
Sunday, March 8, 9:30-11:30 a.m. (Muffins, coffee & tea)
What gives a home a religious identity? Is it a symbol on the doorpost of a house? Or is what goes on behind the gate more important? Join us as we explore how to build a family’s religious identity when one spouse or parent is from a different faith background with Jane Larkin, author of From Generation to Generation: A Story of Intermarriage and Jewish Continuity.
Child care will be available but you MUST RSVP in advance, 802-862-5125 or info@templesinaivt.org
The Oys and Joys of Being the Parent or Grandparent of a Child in an Interfaith Relationship
Sunday, March 8, 12:00-2:00 p.m.
Interdating and intermarriage can make even the most open-minded Jewish parents and grandparents anxious. It’s one thing to welcome intermarried couples into the general community, but it is another when the mixed-faith couple involves your own child or grandchild. Join us as we explore the “oys” and “joys” of being a parent or grandparent of a child in an interfaith relationship with Jane Larkin, author of From Generation to Generation: A Story of Intermarriage & Jewish Continuity.
Lunch will be served so you must RSVP, 802-862-5125 or info@templesinaivt.org
Jane writes for InterfaithFamily.com and contributes to “The Seesaw” in the Forward. Her work has appeared in the Forward, Tablet, Kveller.com, The Jewish Journal Boston, Jewish Exponent, ReformJudaism.org and other outlets.
