The Johnson Recreation Committee has infused Winter Carnival with leadership, creative ideas and renewed energy.
The February 21st event will offer ice skating, cross country skiing, snow sculpting on the Legion Field. Indoors at the Johnson Elementary School gym there will be a Free Throw Competition, Johnson’s Got Talent Open Mic, free craft activities, a preschool art table, Bingo, Take the Cake Stroll as well as raffles and food sales.
The Historical Society will serve a variety of homemade soups including Alice Whiting’s corn chowder, venison stew, Barb Dodge’s baked beans, Mark Woodward’s beef chili, nachos & cheese, and hotdogs plus coffee and hot chocolate. Reasonably priced, it is the best lunch in town from 11 AM to 1 PM.
Also the Conservation Commission will lead a snowshoe trek at Journey’s End on the 469 Plot Road with step off at 1 PM.
The Community Senior Art Exhibit and reception with the artists is from 1:30 to 3 PM at the Red Mill Gallery, Vermont Studio Center.
