Knife Sharpening and Wooden Spoon Workshop, Scholarships!

Past event
Feb 28, 2015

Lazy Mill Living Arts is presenting a day-long knife sharpening/spoon carving workshop on Saturday, Feb 28, from 9-5. This is an $80 workshop, but a generous supporter is sponsoring two half-price scholarships for anyone unable to pay the full rate.

Workshop will be held at the home of Ben and Penny Hewitt and includes a morning hand-sharpening primer with tool maker and blacksmith Lucian Avery (www.lucianaveryblacksmith.com), followed by an afternoon of carving by the wood stove with Andre Souligny (www.spoonderlust.com). No experience necessary; if you've ever wanted to learn the finer points of putting an edge on your knives, as well as the joy of working with traditional hand tools to create a piece of functional art, this is the workshop for you! Pre-registration is required. Lunch and bandages included! Carving knives available for use.
