Performance: Fri Feb 27 at 5:30pm
Taught by favorite LNT Actor-Teachers (39 Steps stars) Kate Kenney & Christopher Scheer

No Audition needed. Previous dance and gymnastic experience is helpful but not necessary. Students benefit from the collected experience of LNT veterans Kate Kenney & Christopher Scheer in several disciplines. The class will mount a production of Words, Words, Words by David Ives: a short play about chimpanzees forced to write at typewriters until they produce Hamlet. This plot provides a unique opportunity to explore and learn about physical comedy, aerial acrobatics, as well as text work, all at the same time.

Students will approach physical comedy from the viewpoints of traditional commedia, modern clown and improvisation. Aerial silks will be incorporated into the show, and all interested students will have the opportunity to learn and advance on the aerial silks at their own rate. Exploration of text work tailored to individual student's comfort experience, and interest level using Ives’ modern script and excerpts from Shakespearean scenes & soliloquies. Everyone will have a speaking role. Each student will be challenged to delve deeply into their own lines, as well as their fellow classmates' material.

Extra challenging roles available for more experienced students. Younger students, with experience, may apply to join this workshop via an interview with artistic directors.
