The North Branch Café will be hosting a 5 week program starting on Wednesday February 11 through March 11 from 10am - 11:30am. There will be a maximum of 8 people in the class. The class will be taught by Tea Shop owner, Lauren Parker and will be a hands-on program. The cost for the 5 week class is $40 or $10 per class. Preregistration and payment for the special price.
Each class will be 60-90 minutes and will include tastings of several teas. The classes will be as follows:
2/10/15: Tea as a Healthy Drink A discussion of the major 5 types of tea and the health benefits that each provides. This class will open your eyes to the wonders of the Camellia Sinensis Plant! Learn why tea drinking is growing in the US.
2/17/15: Black Teas from Around the World Black tea is the most familiar of the varietals. It is broad ranging in the number of countries where it is grown and the flavors associated with different styles of harvesting.
2/24/15: The Beauty of Oolong Oolongs are the most challenging of teas to make and some of the most wide ranges of smell and taste. Meet and love the Black Dragon!
3/3/15: Green Tea and the Customs of Tea Learn about the many options for green tea and how to be sure you have a perfect cup. Explore the cultural presentations.
3/10/15: White, Yellow and Dark teas - the lesser known teas Why are these teas not familiar in the US? How are they different and what to look for in selecting them.
