Big Heavy World is a volunteer-staffed music office working to preserve and promote original Vermont-made music. Everyone’s invited to visit us in our new location inside Burlington College this Wednesday, Feb. 11, 7-9pm, 351 North Avenue in Burlington. We operate the web site bigheavyworld.com, a public listening library, an online music shop, a community radio station (105.9FM The Radiator), programs that bring resources to VT artists like a tour van loan program and playing music in VT welcome centers, and we’re always busy putting showcase and educational events together. We just upgraded our radio station and are sending six VT bands to SXSW in TX in March, with a local preview concert on Feb. 18 that will be televised live — we’d love to share more about our fun work with you! During the open house we’ll have music by Ida Mae Specker http://thespeckers.com and Cricket Blue, http://cricketbluemusic.com, our guests on ‘Rocket Shop,’ Big Heavy World’s local music radio hour during the open house.
