Fiddling duo David Kaynor and George Wilson will be presenting a house concert on Friday, February 6 at the home of Diane and Dave Guertin in Cornwall, at 7:00. Come early and join us for socializing and light snacks starting at 6:30. This promises to be a fun evening of wonderful music by two masterful fiddlers.
David Kaynor is a long-time fiddler, contra dance caller, storyteller, composer, and teacher from western Massachusetts. His fiddle repertoire encompasses a wide range of sources, particularly from the New England and Swedish traditions. David has an entertaining, eclectic style that brings joy to dancers and listeners alike.
A talented multi-instrumentalist and singer from the Capitol Region of New York State, George Wilson's repertoire samples a wide variety of traditional and folk styles, from New England, Quebec, Cape Breton, Scotland, Ireland and Shetland. His dynamic fiddling, influenced by Cape Breton and French Canadian styles, has been popular with contra dancers and concert-goers since the late 1970s.
Together these two accomplished musicians create a duo even greater than the sum of its parts, full of beauty, style, and a generous dose of wit. A listener from a recent concert says “the concert that I heard David and George do was one of the best evenings of music in my recent memory!”
Space is limited. For reservations and directions, please call Diane or Dave Guertin at 802-462-2548. Admission is $10.
Hope to see you there!
