A group of photographers from Central Vermont who call themselves The New Group of Seven are mounting a show of recent work for Montpelier’s Art Walk tomorrow, Friday, February 6th, from 4-8.

The gallery space at 13 Main Street will be transformed into a place to see over 100 new photographs made by the members of this group. As part of a project each artist photographed a particular everyday object—ice cubes, screening, and wine glasses as examples—as a way to explore new techniques and employ proven ones to new advantage while creating their art. We found the results, when taken together, to be nothing short of astonishing.

The photographers will all be available to discuss their approaches to the project. Each artist will show the images they made as part of the creative process and conversations with the group members are encouraged. The New Group of Seven includes the following individuals:Elliot Burg, Julie Parker, Lisa Dimondstein, Sandy Shenk, Annie Tiberio Cameron, John Snell and Rob Spring
