Bristol Conservation Commission’s Water Quality Chat!
When & Where: Thursday, February 12, 5:30pm, Bristol Town offices in lower level of Holley Hall in Bristol
Who: Residents of Lincoln, Bristol and New Haven are invited by co-hosts Bristol Conservation Commission and Addison County River Watch Collaborative.
What: This “Water Quality Chat” is one of a series of informal, constructive, give-and-take discussions about local waterways in Addison County. These sessions are supported by funds from the Lake Champlain Basin Program.
Goals of the chats are to share the results of Addison County River Watch’s monitoring work, to bring to light local knowledge, and to explore future actions aimed at improving water quality in the New Haven River watershed.
Background & Details: Addison County River Watch volunteers have been monitoring the New Haven River for 20 years. Some of the group’s sampling sites are located at Bartlett Falls, South Street Bridge in Bristol, and at the mouth of the Muddy Branch in New Haven (where Halpin Road meets River Road).
During the February 12 Water Quality Chat, River Watch will explain past trends in the data as well as look at the most recent season’s data (2014).
Members of the public as well as local Conservation Commissions will weigh in on issues relating to water quality in the New Haven River Watershed, and discussion about potential improvements will be encouraged.
