The Jericho Democratic Committee will hold an organizing caucus on September 19, 5:30 pm, at the Jericho Town Hall, Jericho Corners, 67 Route 15, selectboard meeting room, to elect committee officers and recommend one or more candidates to fill a justice of the peace (JP) vacancy. Please note the early start time.

JP vacancies are filled by the Governor. JP candidates must be registered voters. There is no party registration in Vermont, but any candidate(s) recommended by this caucus will represent the Democratic Party. Term will end January 31, 2015. Duties include serving on the Jericho Board of Civil Authority, helping with Town elections, hearing property tax appeals, enforcing Town ordinances and, of course, officiating at weddings (within Vermont) !
