Just a reminder that there will be a 10th Mountain Division Gathering Informational meeting at Sugarbush Resort, Gatehouse Lodge, at 5:30pm on Monday February 2, 2015. Come see the PBS Documentary, produced by my good friend and 10th Mountain Division Descendant, Abbie Kealy. Abbie's uncle was killed in action on the first day of the assault on Mt. Belvedere, February 19, 1945. This years gathering is in honor of another descendant, who's father was killed in action just a few days before the end of World War II. Pat Finn Thornton was instrumental in getting the first Eastern Gathering of the 10th Mountain Division of the ground last year. She never knew her dad, Capt. Fred Finn, as she was born on February 18, 1945, which was the day the 10th began their assault on Riva Ridge. Pat, unfortunately, lost her fight with cancer in August of last year.
