Vernal Pool Walk at Refuge!

Past event
Apr 10, 2015, 6 to 8 PM

Join Park Ranger Dave Frisque for a look at the life and activity in a vernal pool in early spring.

Vernal pools are important breeding areas for some of the more reclusive and seldom seen amphibians such as wood frogs and spotted salamanders. Because these temporary pools often dry up by late summer and fall, egg laying and early development of young salamanders and frogs must begin in early spring.
