Join Volunteer Greg Simard for a walk in Maquam Bog, Vermont's largest bog! The bog is closed to public access most of the year but the winter offers an opportunity for a special visit when snow makes it easier to explore.

The bog has historically been used as a deer wintering area. Other wildlife including snowshoe hare, short-eared owls and Northern Harriers inhabit the bog at different times of year. It is home to the only known pitch pine woodland bog community in Vermont!
