Dear Neighbors,
On Monday, the City Council will convene its fourth of four meetings for the month of January.
Following a work session on collective bargaining that will begin at 6pm in Contois Auditorium in City Hall and a very brief Local Control Commission meeting that will begin at 7pm, we will begin our Council meeting with a CCTA update from the new General Manager, Karen Walton, Chief Union Steward Nate Bergeron and CCTA Representative for Burlington Chapin Spencer. We will then hold a public hearing on all the proposed Charter changes for voter approval on the March 3 Town Meeting Day ballot. We will have a second public hearing on Urban Agriculture ordinance changes.
Our only deliberative agenda item concerns a vote to place on the Town Meeting Day ballot a question concerning Taft School. The question is “Shall the School District be authorized to establish a fund for the purpose of relocating its Horizons and On-Top programs, and meeting with infrastructure needs, and deposit into this fund the proceeds from the leasing of Taft School land and buildings?”
We will then have council committee reports, comments from councilors and the Mayor.
Please keep in mind that you are welcome to come to a council meeting and speak to the Council on any subject you wish during our Public Forum which begins at 7:30pm.
Clickable agenda items can be found on the City's website:

Please keep in mind that at all Council meetings are televised live on Channel 317 on Burlington Telecom.
As always, I welcome your questions and concerns. Please email or give me a call over the weekend or tomorrow.
I will be outside all today and tomorrow going door to door so responses may take a bit more time but please do reach out with any questions or concerns.
I hope you have a great weekend.
My best,
Karen
