This is to alert you to the fact that Fire District No 2 will be holding its annual meeting on Monday, January 26th @ 7 p.m. in the Water Department building located at 838 Church Road. The agenda includes discussions of proposed budgets for Fire Department and the Water Department and to vote on positions opening up on Prudential Committee. There will also be a vote on whether the present voting system should be changed or not. If present system remains in effect, Colchester residents who would like to get involved with community politics, have a slim - if any at all - chance of being voted on as a Prudential Committee member. The voting process that took place during last year's annual meeting left much to be desired. And even though a resident was interested in running for one of the Prudential slots, there was no way in the world - based upon voting system being used - she would have had a shot at filling the position. If you would like to see changes made in manner in which elections are held, please do attend meeting in order to voice your concerns and/or suggestions. Hope to see many of you on the 26th.
