Barbara Krieger, chair of the Creative Writing Concentration at Dartmouth College, will talk at Beth Jacob Synagogue, 10 Harrison Ave., Montpelier on Sunday at 1:30 p.m. The topic is the Dead Sea: Myth, History and Politics. The talk is based on her book of the same name. Far more than a detailed and delightful travelogue, the book is an inquiry into the human and political drama that has swirled around this mysterious place for more than 12,000 years.
