Saturday’s forecast looks good – good temperature for spending a few hours outside, enough snow for sledding, sunshine – sounds like a good day for Winterfest at Shelburne Farms. There’s always lots to do at Winterfest, a joint venture of the Farms and Shelburne Parks & Recreation, with hayrides in the field, sledding on the hills behind the Farm Barn (bring your own sled – no metal runners please), bonfires in the courtyard, comedy and musical entertainment in the Hub including Tom Joyce comedy magician at 1 and 2:30, live bird program with Outreach for Earth Stewardship, tours of O Bread Bakery, Renaissance School, demos by Shelburne Craft School and ECHO, and family fun. And food: Shelburne Farms chili and macaroni and cheese, Parks & Rec maple popcorn balls, 4-H Explorers bake sale.
