This Thursday Evening - Forum: Putting a Price on Pollution

Past event
Jan 22, 2015, 6:30 to 7:30 PM

Want to save money on home heating and other energy costs? Tired of hearing how fossil fuel companies rake in the profits without paying their dues for the pollution they cause?
Join us for Energy Independent Vermont’s Educational Forum, on January 22nd to find out more about an important campaign that can address both issues. Come - and bring friends! Thursday evening, 6:30 pm, Valley Players Theater Main St., Waitsfield.
By putting a price on carbon pollution, paid by major distributors bringing coal, oil and gas into Vermont, and returning those dollars directly to Vermonters, we can create a cleaner environment, save Vermonters money and encourage the necessary move to renewable energy sources. This program is not new. It has been tested and found extremely popular elsewhere - (British Colombia, for instance - check it out).
Energy Independent Vermont is a growing coalition of organizations including VT Sierra Club, 350 Vermont, The Gund Institute, VT Businesses for Social Responsibility, Vermont Natural Resources Council, VEIC, VPIRG and many more.
See energyindependentvgt.org for more information or contact Isabel Stern isabel@vpirg.org to RSVP or ask questions.
Hope to see you at the Valley Players on Thursday!
