Interested in some armchair travel and tales of medical outreach? Come to the Brookfield Public Library on Thursday January 15th, at 7 pm, to hear Amy Borgman, Brookfield resident and Physician Assistant, talk about her work with Grounds For Health, a Vermont based organization that partners with coffee growing communities to provide cervical cancer screening and treatment to “women at the end of the road.” Cervical cancer, a preventable disease, is a leading cause of death for women in developing countries. She will discuss providing health care in low resource areas, specifically in Tanzania and Ethiopia. The event is free, and light refreshments will be served. The Brookfield library is located in Pond Village, in the Town Offices building.
