Winterfest is an opportunity to celebrate the season at Shelburne Farms with wintery activities, indoors and outside. A cooperative project of Shelburne Farms and Shelburne Parks and Recreation Department, Winterfest has been part of the local scene for many years – and for all of those years, the day’s program has adapted to the unpredictability of winter in Vermont. We’ve had sunny, balmy days with lots of snow, grey days with almost no snow and some howling blizzards.
Saturday, Jan. 24 is still far enough away that plans are still somewhat flexible. But we know that from noon to 3 p.m. there will be family fun, entertainment, music, food, hands-on activities and bonfires in the courtyard of the Farm Barn. If there is snow, we’ll have sleigh-rides, sledding, sled-dog rides, and skating. Bring your own sleds (no runners please) and skates.
Plan to be there. Admission is free, and donations are accepted for Shelburne Parks and Recreation to defray expenses. Sleigh rides are $2 per person.
