The Champlain Valley Farmer Coalition invites you to our 2015 Annual Meeting, Wednesday January 14th, 2015 at the Vergennes American Legion, Post #14
Farmers in the Champlain Valley are taking action to protect water quality in ways that improve their farms. Join the discussion to find out how to work together as farmers and take the initiative to be proactive and be part of the solution.
Hear from fellow farmers about their experiences with field based practices that improve water quality and increase their net profits. Farmers will talk about this years cover cropping, minimum tillage/ No-Till, diversified farming, and more, and discuss what went well and what they will change for next year.
Hear from Ethan Swift from the Agency of Natural Resources and Matt Whitten of the ACRWC about the State of Vermont's water sampling programs. Learn about how water quality data is collected and interpreted, and where you can find all of this information. A local farmer will also talk about his experience working with various organizations to improve water quality on his farm.
Let's work together as a farm community...join CVFC members and other farmers as we share ideas and experiences on how we can take on the water quality issue in a way that preserves our waters while improving farm viability in Vermont.
