Come Play! Shelburne Nursery School is holding an Open House for families on Monday, January 19, from 9:30 – 11 a.m. at our school, 30 Church Street (lower level of the Methodist Church). Explore our classrooms (there’s an igloo in one!) and playground, meet teachers and parents, and see what makes our school so extraordinary.

As a parent of a kindergartener, I am seeing first-hand how well SNS prepared my son for elementary school. Now he is returning to his sister’s afternoon SNS class to read to them! SNS provides a vibrant and nurturing environment where children, families, and teachers form close bonds and where a dedication to learning at each child’s individual pace is paramount. Head teacher Joanne Buermann has been at SNS for 30 years – her experience and judgment are phenomenal – and I am grateful to her and the SNS teachers for instilling an early love of learning in both my children. The teacher-student ratio at SNS is very low (usually 1:6 or lower) so there is great personal attention. And SNS partners with Shelburne Museum -- children visit throughout the year and engage in special hands-on activities that connect with the SNS curriculum. SNS also offers outstanding afternoon enrichment programs, which children from other preschools can attend.
