The stories of mischief, generosity, love and chickpeas that fill the play "The Arabian Nights" have entertained readers for centuries. Presented this weekend by the Frederick Tuttle Drama Department in association with the First Light Theatre Project, "The Arabian Nights" celebrates the power and delight of storytelling. Twenty-two cast members play nearly eighty characters in an assortment of stories, many of which include original music and dance. The play was written in 2009 by Tony Award-winning director and playwright Mary Zimmerman.
Performances are Friday, January 9 and Saturday, January 10 at 7 p.m. at the South Burlington High School Auditorium. Tickets will be available at the door before the show, and seating is general admission. Due to the complex subject matter, this production may not be the best choice for an outing with children younger than fifth grade.
