Tired of winter already? The Friends of the Aldrich Library have the solution. They are holding their Winter Banquet on Friday, January 30th beginning at 5:30 PM at The Barre Elks Lodge. Everyone who buys their tickets by the time the Aldrich Library closes on Thursday, January 15th will be entered into a drawing to win a $50 gift card generously donated by the Quarry Restaurant. Tickets are $25 each and may be purchased at the library or from members of the Friends. The menu includes hors d'oeuvres prepared by the Friends, beef tenderloin served family style with all the fixings, and Ben and Jerry's. A vegetarian option is available. There will also be a silent auction and live auction with fabulous items donated by the great businesses in Central Vermont. Don't miss out on this great event. The Friends of the Aldrich use the funds raised to provide wonderful programs at the library for citizens of all ages.
