Howard Coffin to Speak Jan 9

The Tunbridge Library’s Winter Evenings speaker series begins with historian Howard Coffin at 7:30 on Friday, Jan. 9. His topic is “Vermont and the Civil War.”

Coffin is a seventh generation Vermonter with six ancestors who served in Vermont Civil War regiments. He has written four Vermont Civil War books: "Full Duty: Vermonters in the Civil War," "Nine Months to Gettysburg," "The Battered Stars" and "Something Abides: Discovering the Civil War in Today’s Vermont."

A frequent speaker and tour guide, Coffin is a commentator on Vermont Public Radio and has appeared on History Channel, National Geographic TV and C-Span programs.
