CHRISTMAS EVE 2000 YEARS AGO
Candlelight Christmas Birthday Celebration
CANAAN
It was on Dec 24th over 2000 years ago that a young couple named Joseph & Mary settled in for a long winter night and their son Jesus was born in that far off land. Back then the newspapers couldn't announce this milestone so HE arranged for a very bright star to shine over the entire town to announce that something extraordinary had happened. One year ago the entire community re-lit the steeple at Grace to once again become the beacon of Hope for the people of Canaan/Stewartstown.
140 years ago the people of Canaan got together to celebrate that birth so long ago and built a simple church named Grace. And that first Christmas Eve everyone in town came. They were not Catholics nor Protestants. They were simply an entire community coming together to celebrate the birth of that little boy, the son of Joseph & Mary.
Wednesday night, at 9pm on Christmas Eve, everyone is invited to gather together again in candle light, not as Catholics nor Protestants, but just believers that something truly special should be celebrated with Grace and Love by an entire community that is united in Hope & Joy
