Join me, David Gusakov, at Middlebury Community Music Center (MCMC), 6 Main St. , on four Friday afternoons, 4-5:00, to learn the fundamentals of fiddling. This is a class for all ages. Through playing various fiddle tunes together we'll explore typical bowing patterns, rhythm patterns, drones and double stops in reels, jigs, and hornpipes. The only prerequisites are a year of playing a violin/fiddle in any kind of music (at any point in your life😊), and at least a rudimentary ability to read music. I'll hand out printed sheets for each tune with a warm-up bowing pattern, and easier and more advanced versions of the tune. The atmosphere will be warm, accepting and fun!
