Happy Mud Season Round 2 of probably 7!
This week's dinner will be Chicken Pot Pie featuring birds from the Sterling Farm. We will be serving this with roasted veggies, Kale Caesar salad, and yep, you guessed it...squash from the Sterling Garden (someday the squash will be gone). Dessert will be Tres Leches cake. All diets accommodated - donations appreciated but not required. Coffee mugs make a great donation. :-)
We have an exciting addition to dinner this week with the kick-off of our Food and Farmer Panel series. For the month of March we will be hosting two local farmers/food producers for a moderated discussion on the community impact of food and agriculture as it relates to health and wellbeing, and the hurdles they may or may not be facing in our current social climate. This discussion will provide data and insight that will then be used to design a course offered in the fall titled "Farm Rx: Community Food Security & Wellness Partnerships".
Guests this week will be Ben Nottermann of Snug Valley Farm in East Hardwick and Paul Lisai of Sweet Rowen Farmstead in Albany. The discussion will start directly following dinner, there will be 40 minutes of moderated discussion, and then we will open it up for folks to ask these two fellas questions.
As always, our meal is free and open to anyone in the greater Craftsbury area - come for the food, stay for the chat, and we hope to see you there!
