The North Hero Public Library and the Parks and Recreation Committee will present a Tree Program for children on Saturday, March 8, at 10am at the library, and a "Getting to Know Our Nature Areas" on Tuesday, April 15 at 7pm-8pm at the Community Hall and via zoom.
The Tree Program for children on Saturday, March 8, will feature art stations and small group activities. "Build Your Own Tree", "Trees and You", and a "How Old Am I?" tree cookie station.
"Getting to Know Our Nature Areas" on Tuesday, April 15, will be hosted by Chip Porter, a long-time denizen of the Nature Areas and a Vermont Master Naturalist. It will feature a close look at the exceptionally diverse ecology of the natural areas in North Hero, including the three Town Pelots and Ingalls Nature Areas, and the Footpath on the Island Line as well as the three State Parks. A compendium of essays describing the ecology will be given to each participant. Those wishing to attend by Zoom should make requests for the link to the Library Director.
