Lyric Theatre's spring show is "LEGALLY BLONDE: The Musical," and the artistic team is searching for two friendly dogs to join the fun-loving, pink-wearing cast and crew!
One canine character is a Chihuahua named Bruiser who belongs to sorority queen and aspiring law student Elle Woods. This dog should ideally able to bark on command.
The other pooch is a bulldog named Rufus, who Elle helps return to its rightful owner, Paulette the hairdresser. This dog should be comfortable around people and trainable.
The team is searching for dogs that are good around people, comfortable in large spaces and around another dog, and that either know or can learn the tasks that they need to perform consistently in the show.
If a good match is not found in those breeds (Chihuahua and bulldog), others will be considered — with a preference toward breeds that are most physically similar.
Show dates are April 9-12 (five shows total) at the Flynn Theatre in Burlington. Rehearsals will be held in Williston, generally on Sundays.
