Apple Tree Pruning: For home and wildlife
Saturday, March 22
9:00am - 12:00pm
Long Hill Rd., South Woodstock, VT

Join Vermont Coverts Cooperator Lander Burr, County Forester Dan Healey and Orchardist Otis Wood for a hands-on workshop to learn about and try simple techniques for pruning apple trees in a backyard orchard setting. We will also discuss care and renovation of large, old apple trees, as well as apples for wildlife. Find out which tools to use, how much to prune, how and where to make pruning cuts, and when it should be done. Bring along your pruning saw, loppers and clippers to try your hand at making some cuts. The workshop is free and open to the public. Dress for the weather. Sponsored by Vermont Coverts: Woodlands for Wildlife.
